It took me a moment to make out the scene, which is great because I don't usually get fooled by photomanipulations (I hadn't checked the category). From a smallview it simply looks like a darkened sand dune.
Looking closely the only thing I would personally try to change is a bit more clarity along the horizon. Where it greys a bit close to the sun. Also if the ripples followed the same pattern throughout to consistantly match the ripple pattern in the dunes. Of course that all depends on what stock you're using.
I only mention the ripple pattern because while it would be much more difficult to make the blend more believable, you could potentially remove the black inbetween the upper portion of water and the lower red portion.
Again, very nice work. I think I'll check out the rest of your gallery.
